The nominations lists for the 2022 CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals have been published today – and I’m absolutely thrilled to say that The Wolf’s Secret haS been nominated this year!
The CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals are the UK’s oldest and most prestigious children’s book awards, recognising outstanding reading experiences created through writing and illustration in books for children and young people.
The list of nominations is truly formidable and I feel absolutely amazed and honored to see our book amongst them !
A total of 148 books have been nominated for the 2022 Medals; 76 books are in contention for the Carnegie Medal and 72 for the Kate Greenaway Medal. This includes two titles that have received nominations in both Medal categories.
Each nominated book is read by every member of the 2022 judging panel – which this year includes 13 children’s and youth librarians from CILIP’s Youth Libraries Group − who volunteer their time as judges. The longlists will be published in February, followed by the shortlists in March, with the winners announced at a ceremony in June next year. .
